Earning your MBA is one of the greatest commitments and most significant investments of time and money you will ever make. The Graduate School of Management and Office of Financial Aid offer comprehensive financial assistance to enable you to enroll in the UC Davis MBA Program. The types of assistance available depend on the MBA program you choose.
Most Working Professional MBA students receive financial support from their employers. The types of funding available to you when enrolling in the part-time Bay Area Working Professional MBA Program include:
Fees for Bay Area Working Professional MBA students entering fall 2009 are $1,190 per unit. Students typically take two courses per quarter, most of which are 3-units with some 1- and 2-unit options. Students are required to complete a total of 72 units.
Fees are due each quarter prior to course registration. Fees include course fees, text books, textpaks, meals, parking and access to all UC libraries. Fees do not cover access to the UC Davis Student Health Center or athletic facilities.
The University disburses all loans under the Federal Direct Loan Programs to you in three installments, one per academic quarter. Disbursements are activated after you have paid your course fees and enrolled in courses.
The UC Davis Graduate School of Management offers a limited grant program for students who have exhausted all other financing sources. You must apply directly to the GSM by completing the following:

Direct loans are made by the U.S. government and administered by the U.S. Department of Education. Using the income and asset information provided on the FAFSA, the Financial Aid Office will determine your eligibility and notify you of the types and amounts of Direct Loan for which you qualify.
Federal Direct Subsidized Loans are awarded to students with financial need to help meet their expenses. The interest rate on this loan is adjusted each July 1 while the student is in school and during the grace period and when the loan is in repayment. The maximum interest rate cap is 8.25%. The federal government pays the interest on subsidized loans while the student is enrolled at least half time, during the six-month grace period (after graduation or withdrawal from school) or during authorized periods of deferment. The annual maximum borrowing limit on subsidized loans is $8,500.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loans are not based on financial need or income. The interest rates and terms are the same as subsidized loans; however, the student is charged the interest on the loan beginning the day the loan is disbursed. Students can choose to pay the interest while they are in school or capitalize the interest (adding the unpaid, accumulated interest to the principal balance) until repayment begins. The annual maximum borrowing limit on unsubsidized loans is $10,000.

Employee Reimbursement Plans may be offered through your current employer to reimburse you for fees and other program costs. Check with your human resources or benefits office to see what reimbursement plans may be available to you. Make sure you are aware of any program restrictions or special requirements.
Private Sector Educational Loan Programs provide both fixed-amount loan programs and revolving lines of credit. Unlike the federal loans, these programs are based on creditworthiness. Interest rates are usually higher, and interest will begin to accrue immediately, although you often have the option of deferring payment while you are in school.

A limited number of donor scholarships are available each year. Students apply in the fall and the Scholarship Committee announces the recipients in the winter.
Each year, the Graduate School of Management Alumni Association awards scholarships to three students, one from each MBA program. Students are nominated in the fall and the Alumni Scholarship Committee selects the recipient.
