Applications are reviewed in groups, based on application round. The Admissions Committee considers academic potential, professional promise and personal qualities. Admission is based on the demonstrated strength of your work experience, previous academic work, performance on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), personal essays and recommendations.
Full-time work experience is considered an asset in the admission evaluation, and students applying for the Working Professional MBA program must be fully employed. No particular area of undergraduate preparation is required, but a standard UC Davis requirement is the completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
The UC Davis MBA Program seeks students from diverse professional and academic backgrounds. Both entry-level and mid-career applicants are welcome. Although the program has no specific subject prerequisites, it is strongly recommended that students be proficient in the use of various computer software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and have completed the following course work prior to enrollment:
Accounting - Introductory course in financial accounting
Economics - Introductory courses in micro- and macro-economics
Mathematics - Introductory course in calculus
Statistics - Introductory course in statistical analysis
You must complete the Application for Admission, which requires the following information:
Work history (including a current position description and job responsibilities)
Academic history, listing all colleges or universities attended
Three short essays on specific topics
Two letters of recommendation
Official transcripts verifying the achievement of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, and graduate degrees if applicable
A nonrefundable application fee of US $125
