Biography
|
Senior Lecturer Emeritus Suran is an authority on technology management, global strategy, budget control models, strategic planning and ethics. He developed and has taught the GSM’s capstone course on management policy and strategy. He also teaches a course on managing professionals that covers pricing, budgeting and ethics. In addition, he has developed courses in technology management, innovation management, and computers and information systems in business applications.
In the College of Engineering, Senior Lecturer Emeritus Suran developed and taught courses in microelectronic analog and digital circuits and systems. He is the co-author of two books on transistor circuits and the author of more than 50 papers published in professional journals. He holds 19 patents and is a registered professional engineer. Before coming to UC Davis, Senior Lecturer Emeritus Suran had a 34-year career in industry, including 30 years with General Electric Company, where he held top management positions. He also has held engineering positions at Motorola, Inc. and the J. W. Meaker Company. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
