Jeff Rosenlund had just been promoted to product operations manager for Cisco Systems’ IP telephony division when he entered the Graduate School of Management’s San Francisco Bay Area MBA Program.
"I had a good engineering background, including solid analytical skills," he explains. "I didn’t have a good business sense."
"One of my first courses was in organizational behavior, and it was a real eye-opener. I was sitting in my class, writing myself e-mails: when I get to work on Monday, these are three things I need to do to set measurable goals and to improve team morale."
The experience was similar in Rosenlund’s other courses. "I learned which questions I should be raising—and where to find the answers.
"I knew the program would bring personal growth and subject depth," he says. "I just didn't expct the growth to be exponential—I'm adding more value at work every day."
