Business Partnership Program Benefits

The Partnership Advantage
The Graduate School of Management’s Business Partnership Program is truly a working partnership that brings extensive benefits to both the Graduate School of Management and to its corporate friends.

As a Business Partner, your company joins many of the top corporations in Northern California in supporting UC Davis’ nationally ranked business school. Our partners' generous contributions reinforce our efforts to provide a superior business education to our MBA students— the next generation of corporate managers and leaders.

As our Business Partner, your organization will enjoy a range of benefits:

Special Events–Networking Opportunities
Members are invited at no cost to a series of distinguished speaker presentations, Business Partner breakfasts, and various on-campus School events. These events have featured some of the most high-profiled leaders in the business community: John Morgridge, Chairman of the Board, Cisco Systems; William Sullivan, CEO, Agilent Technologies; and Robert Eckert, CEO, Mattel. These events provide an opportunity to meet UC Davis MBA students and alumni and get to know other managers of major companies in the region. Partners are welcome to bring clients to these special educational programs.

Student Consulting Assistance
Companies often have projects that they need to tackle, but lack the staff resources to gather the data required for decision making. Partner companies are exposed to a network of MBA students who are eager to work on targeted research projects via internships or for course credit. Through such learning opportunities, students gain valuable experience analyzing real-world issues while Partner companies gather data they need and input from our faculty, without hiring permanent staff members.

Recruitment Opportunities
Business Partners have access to talented students and receive a complimentary copy of the School's MBA Resumé Directory. Through the School's resumé referral service, Business Partners can receive the resumés of all students who have expressed an interest in their industry. To help assess the employment market, each Partner receives a yearly MBA placement survey that reviews both career and internship salary statistics and other recruitment data.

Executive Education
Partner companies receive priority registration for our popular executive education programs. These opportunities vary annually but have included topics such as: Innovation in your Organization, Leading Geo-Dispersed Teams, Personalized Leadership Profile and Management within the Wine Industry.

Use of One Capitol Mall Facility in Sacramento and Bishop Ranch Facility in San Ramon
Partners can use the School's One Capitol Mall and Bishop Ranch teaching facilities for day-time meetings. You can have access to these state-of-the-art facilities that contain varying size lecture rooms, conference rooms and the latest in AV technology. Frequency of use varies depending on your level of membership.

Special Recognition and Visibility
Partners receive special recognition in School publications, the Graduate School of Management Web site, in the press and at our three teaching facilities in Davis, Sacramento and the Bay Area—where students, recruiters, corporate affiliates and other VIPs gather.

Subscription to GSM Publications
All Partners receive copies of the School's award-winning publication, the Innovator. This publication keeps Partners up to date on School activities, faculty research projects and the School's involvement in the community. The Innovator is published twice per year. In addition, Partners will receive a quarterly newsletter from the Dean, keeping them current on the School’s accomplishments.

Affiliations with the Dean, Faculty, and Administrators
The Graduate School of Management Business Partnership Program will assist member firms in identifying and contacting faculty at the School and across the University who are researching topics of interest to the member company. Through our network of world-class faculty, member companies often find the right consultant to help them make the most of business opportunities.
